SOMETHING HAPPENING SOMEWHERE SOMETIME

“When I was eight, I decorated my birthday cake as the 9/11 attacks”
A group of people decorate a cake as climate crisis
Short film
released in 2025
The piece meditates on the reigning
collective visual representations of climate crisis,
the ungraspable,
twisted nature
of this
emergency,
its slow,
violent,
spectacle deficient and
uncinematic nature.
It features
liquorice oil spills,
neo-liberal marzipan towers, and
a green screen projection of the trailer of Today After Tomorrow in its entirety as
an antithesis to
the nature of climate crisis.
